Main objective of metrological supervision over Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) is to provide a single, reliable, and accurate measurement in the country, as well as their maintenance in permanent readiness and serviceability.

Responsibility for status of instrumentation and controls, correct representation of readings, efficiency and quality of departmental metrological supervision is primarily laid upon heads of enterprises, organizations, and institutions.

Law of Ukraine “On metrology and metrological activities”, No. 113/98-BP serves as main normative document in the field of metrology.

I&C verification and calibration

Verification is applied to instrumentation and controls being operated, issued from production or repair, sold or hired. This procedure is mandatory for all measuring devices passing the state metrological supervision. Calibration is applied to instrumentation and controls not subject to state metrological supervision.

State metrological control and supervision is applied to measuring devices, results of which are used during:

• implementation of activities aimed at ensuring the health protection;
• implementation of activities aimed at protecting the life and health of population;
• implementation of activities on quality control and safety of food and medicines;
• monitoring of environment;
• monitoring of safe working conditions;
• execution of various geodesic and meteorological works;
• trade and commercial operations/calculations between the Buyer and Seller – including household and municipal services, telecommunication and postal services;
• tax, banking, and customs operations;
• implementation of activities aimed at accounting of energy and material resources;
• implementation of activities aimed at state registration of land and real estate;
• implementation of activities aimed at ensuring the technical protection of data (assumed by legislation);
• implementation of activities required by prosecutor’s office and legal agencies;
• implementation of activities aimed at assessment of compliance between actual certificates and products, processes, services;
• registration of national and international sports records.

The user shall determine the need for calibration of operated measuring equipment. This procedure is implemented by metrological service of enterprise/organization.

During certification of products, some agencies demand the provision of certificate confirming the accreditation of measuring equipment. You can obtain it from us.

Procedure of obtaining the certificate consists of the following stages:

• submission of application for testing;
• review of application, definition of testing time, cost, and payment procedure;
• award of contract for testing;
• implementation of tests, issue of materials by test results;
• issue of certificate confirming the accreditation of measuring equipment.

I&C accreditation certificate is issued within 1 business week.
