Information for foreign companies intending to export their products to Ukrainian market
Prior to passing the Ukrainian customs control and getting the certificate of conformity, you should:
A) Provide full documentation for technical products and certificates for other marketable products – to Ukrainian certification bodies. Staff of certification bodies shall confidently check the conformity of provided information to Ukrainian standards.
B) Provide a full list of information used for product certification: research protocols, necessary normative documents, expert statements, certificates, etc.
C) It is necessary to determine the UCCFEA (Ukrainian Commodity Classification for Foreign Economic Activity) code in Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce. Customs service reserves the final right to assign the UCCFEA code to goods at customs control (without independent definition of it). Quite often, information on assigning the code is provided in supplier’s documentation. It is necessary to clarify this aspect prior to contract award.
D) Define the potential requirements to mandatory certification (under UCCFEA code). Customs clearance is only possible at presence of document from relevant certification body. If need be, the products shall be properly certified in unconditional manner.
E) Have at hand the document confirming the absence of mandatory certification (for goods having no conditions to mandatory certification). The document issued by certification bodies during respective check of product reference to list of certified products.
It is desirable to check the products, implement their certification, and sign the relevant documents in cooperation with Ukrainian agents. It will protect you from possible difficulties and casualties, while contributing to full legal support and relevant data provision.
